About Semper Reformanda

This is the idea that the church reformed must always be reforming. No church ever reaches perfection here on earth. Any church that feels that it has arrived is in desperate need of Reformation. This Reformation will continue until Jesus returns.

We are committed to attribute glory in the highest only to God. There is no other recipient of glory other than God. Everything we do must redound in the highest glory only to God.

Only the Scriptures are our source of knowledge and information that we require for life and godliness. All other sources are subservient to the Scriptures. They are our highest, inerrant, perfect source and they have no equal.

Christ alone is the way to the father and the only means of salvation. There is no other option and anyone who rejects Christ has no way of either finding God or salvation.

Faith is the only channel God has provided through which we may connect with him through Jesus Christ. Faith alone is the means through which any spiritual life or connection is achieved. No works of any kind are involved.

Grace alone is the basis on which God has extended his goodness and benevolence to us. None of us did anything to deserve his grace or to attract his attention. Quite the opposite. If he was infact to deal with us based on what we deserve, none of us would survive.

We are committed to the historic calvinistic position re-affirned at the Synod of Dort in 1618 which re-stated the sovereignty of God in salvation and expression through what has come to be known as the five points of Calvinism.

We are committed to the church model that has come to be known as the Baptist church system that emphasizes church autonomy, plurality and parity of the eldership, a converted membership Baptised by immersion and observing the Lord's supper as prescribed by the Lord Jesus Christ.

We unashamedly identify with the Puritans who took their religion seriously and sought to bring the whole of their lives under the entirety of the Scriptures. We emulate with passion how they sought to influence their world by their Christianity.

We believe that while the truth of God from the Scriptures remains the same and cannot change, man's understanding of it has always undergone various changes. These changes have required a clear re-statement of the truth to preserve it and distinguish it from error. These statements have been carried in our historic creeds through which Providence has preserved the truth.
